BIZARRE CARVED COCONUT BRIDAL HEADDRESS!

Heavily Carved Antique Indonesian Coconut Headdress, with Front & Back Streamers of Carved Dangles !  Completely carved in relief with a filigree effect.

This is a really Strange Object, and I couldn't find out very much about it, but it seems that in the Tribal Villages, if a maiden couldn't afford to have a Silver Headdress, the family would carve one out of Coconut. Literally 1000's of carved pieces wired together!

  The Headdress is full of Dragons, Gods, and Flowers punctuated with Bird Heads.  It is a bit larger than a head, probably to accommodate hair or a cloth head wrap, or turban or veil.
